Land Dispute: Ex- Okaighele seeks Oba of Benin forgiveness , pardon over disobedience

A former Okaighele of  Ekhor Nuwaya  community  in Uhumwonde Local Government Area of Edo state,  Prince Junior Aghama  Enonlense  has appealed to the Benin monarch, His Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare II   for forgiveness for going against the monarch's  directives  in  a disputed land matter . Prince Aghama in line with the culture of the Benin kingdom tendered an unreserved apology to the monarch. While noting that the Benin monarch is the father of the entire Benin kingdom noted that as a subject, he has no option not to knee down to beseech for forgiveness. Aghama who spoke to newsmen in Benin City weekend expressed regret for taking a contrary opinion  against the palace pronouncement, hence, he is seeking for forgiveness and also tendering an unreserved  apology. From Chris Akhabue The  Edo State Commissioner of Police CP Mohamed  Dankwanbo has announced the release of 12 victims kidnapped last week at the Igueben train Station in Iguenen local government area of Edo state by armed gunmen. He said  the victims were rescued in Udo forest in Ugboha village  in Esan South East local government of the State. According to him, "Our men in collaboration with other security forces have been in the forest for a week now and it was there they intercepted those people because from the intelligence gathered, the kidnappers and the victims were roaming that area, so, yesterday night, the security forces laid an ambush and in trying to move the victims from one area to the other, the security forces intercepted them. Eye witness account of how Violence disrupted PVC collection at Ikpoba Okha

The ongoing collection of Personal Voters Card (PVC) at designated points nationwide by the  Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC) , may have suffered a setback as the exercise was disrupted by violence in some parts of Benin City, the Edo State Capital,  over the weekend. According to an eye witness account, the violence which halted the smooth  exercise at ward 6 at St Maria Gorretti in Ikpoba Okha local government area of Edo state  on saturday,  started  when all of a sudden, fight broke out  over an unknown cause  between two boys who were said to have strolled into the venue of the exercise.
