Obi In Benin To Showcase LP House Of Assembly Candidates, Show gratitude- Ogbaloi

From Chris Akhabue

The  Presidential candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi, yesterday said that a new Nigeria where all men will be equal before the law, a Nigeria where things work is possible.

He made this remark when he paid an impromptu visit to thank Edo voters for voting massively for him during the last saturday presidential elections  and urge them to complete what they had begun  by coming out en mass to vote again for all the Labour Party candidates in the March 18th polls in Edo State.

According to Obi," I must
urge the Labour Party supporters not to be discouraged by the outcome of the presidential election.

"Nigeria must not be allowed to remain the way it is. There must be a paradigm shift from the present state to a better and a prosperous Nigeria.

“We have begun the journey of a new Nigeria. The movement is real and nobody can stop it. We will not allow Nigeria to remain the way it is. We will continue to vote for the Labour party,” Obi said".

He urged them to sustain the tempo by voting all the candidates of the party in the Saturday March 18 state House of Assembly and governorship election across the states.

He said a retreat would be organised for all victorious candidates of the Labour Party to teach them what to do in the quest to change the political and socio-economic  narratives of the country.

The National Chairman of the party, Julius Abure said the candidates of the party for the House of Assembly election in Edo State have not stepped down for anyone and that no Labour Party candidate is being sponsored by any other party.

He appealed to the residents of the state to come out en mass to vote for candidates of the party in the March 18 election to secure victory for the party.

Earlier, the state chairman of the party, Kelly Agbaloi, thanked the presidential candidate of the party, Peter Obi and the national chairman of the party, Julius Abure for visiting the state adding that their presence have further given a boost to all the Obidients supporters in the state.

Comrade Kelly Ogbaloi who spoke with Journalists after the event further thanked Edo people for the massive support for Labour Party and all its candidates and urged them to maintain the tempo by coming out massively to vote for all its  candidates in the saturday elections.

According to him, " I want to further use this opportunity to once again thank all Edo people, particularly our teeming supporters for their solidarity behind Labour Party and I urge you to remain irrevocably committed to the project of taking back our country.

" I want to also reiterate here  that Labour Party is not in any form of negotiation with any political party as we have our capable and credible candidates for the saturday house of Assembly elections and so there is no basis for any form of negotiation with any body or group outside members of Labour Party. As you can see that the national flagbearer of the party has come to showcase our own candidates and their hands have been raised to showcase them to the public and that goes to show that we are ready and our  candidates are ready and fully prepared for the contest and so the insinuations that there is any form of negotiation with other political party is mere fabrications that are gross falshood that should be disregarded.

He further stated that Edo people are particularly in the heart of Obi because Edo came highest in the support for Obi in last saturday presidential elections and therefore he has come to express his gratitude to the people, he concluded.
