 The Deputy Speaker of Edo state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon (Mrs) Maria Omozele Oligbi-Edeko has called on Nigerians particularly Christians to emulate the virtues of humility, perseverance and love as they celebrate Easter in commemoration if the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Oligbi-Edeko in an Easter message to Nigerians and particularly, the industrious people of Esan North-aEast 11  Also implored christians to use the occasion to seek the face of God for continuous peace as the state prepares for the September governorship election. She said" As we celebrate the the sacrifice of our lord Jesus Christ on the calvary, I urged everyone to reflect on the significance of this day which embodies Christ's love for mankind by imbibing the virtues of love and selflessness as Jesus Christ did by sacrificing his life on the cross,". According to her, Easter symbolises love, sacrifice and service to God, so we need to reflect on the significance.

  The dilapidated Benin-Agbor road in Ikpoba Okha local government area in Edo state is currently undergoing rehabilitation effort by Sermatec Nigeria limited Recall that the bad situation of the road prompted the Ikpoba Hill Youths to barricade the road for weeks last year to draw the attention of government to the deplorable condition of the road and as a result, the Godwin Obaseki led government intervened and SKAFF Construction Company did some palliatives which is already being washed away by floods.
