Food And Drinks Events Managers Of Nigeria FADEM holds its maiden edition of food and drinks festival with the theme, " Back To Our Ethnic Delicacies"in Benin city the Edo state capital yesterday, March 12th, 2024.

According to the President of FADEM, Mrs Pauline Omogbelehan, she observed that the Country is fast embracing foods and drinks from other cultures and is gradually abandoning indegeneous foods and drinks.

" Our Society is fast embracing food and drinks from other cultures and if care is not taken, we shall slowly and systematically neglect those foods that make up our core indegeneous meals.

She further added that FADEM plans to keep indegeneous meals in the consciousness of the people, knowing the health benefits of the native foods and drinks.

"FADEM as a body has seen this gap which is slowly growing and plans to keep our ethnic food in the heart of our people. We can not overemphasize the health benefits derived from some of these food and drinks and the sumptuous taste as well.

" This festival which has most of the big names in the food and drinks industry within the Edo and Delta region in participation plans to bring back old delicacies to jump start our tastes and buds and take us back memory lane.

Some of the big names in the foods and drinks industry that graced the occasion includes Randy Food, Kenbas Fingers, Olive Caterers, Fly Chef, Events Code, Ella Caterers and Rentals and a host of several others.

Highlight of the well attended event was the exhibition of array of mouth watering indegeneous delicacies.

Catholic Priest dumps Christianity for traditional religion after completing PhD on rainmaking

Dr Echezona Obiagbaosogu, a Catholic priest, has abandoned Christianity for African traditional religion after his PhD project. His PhD project is said to be on rainmaking in Igboland and he said the insight he gained during his research made him change the course of his spiritual pursuit. According to reports , Obiagbaosogu, who teaches African Traditional Religion at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, in Anambra State, said he was fascinated by the traditional African spirituality and the art of rainmaking. After defending his PhD Dissertation titled “Rainmaking and Control in Igbo African Medicine,” on Wednesday, he said Africa possesses enormous resources and value which have been eroded by colonial powers. Fake palm oil is said to have entered several markets in six states of Nigeria and is still spreading into others. A few arrests, according to reports, have been made, and laboratory testing of seized samples revealed high acid content, and other substances believed to cause cancer. Market dealers and sellers have raised alarm over the fake and adulterated palm oil now selling in markets across Nigeria.
