YOAV GALANT SAYS HAMAS HAS ONLY TWO OPTIONS; SURRENDER OR DIE
The Isreali Defense Minister, Yoav Galant has said that there was no third option for Hamas adding that the only two options available was to surrender or die.
He made the disclosure during a recent cadets graduation ceremony at the IDF’s officers school in southern Israel, where he delivered a speech that appeared to indirectly critique Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Gallant stressed the significance of strong leadership and personal accountability, highlighting three major elements of effective leadership: commitment to the mission, leading by personal example, and acknowledging that taking responsibility forms the bedrock of authority. Gallant also addressed Israel's ongoing challenges on multiple fronts, acknowledging the complexities of conflicts in the northern and southern regions, as well as other undisclosed locations.
According to a report by Times of Israel, Gallant emphasized the arduous nature of the ongoing war in which Israel is engaged, particularly against Hamas. He said that Hamas faces a binary choice of surrender or death, leaving no room for a third alternative. Gallant articulated Israel's strategic objectives in the conflict, including the dismantling of Hamas both militarily and as a governing entity, as well as the safe return of all hostages to their homes.
In his speech, Gallant's words stressed the gravity of the situation and the unwavering resolve of the Israeli military in confronting its adversaries. He conveyed a sense of determination to achieve the stated goals of the conflict, demonstrating a clear-eyed assessment of the challenges ahead and the measures required to address them.
He said, "Hamas has only two options: Surrender or death, there is no third option. We are achieving the goals of the war: the dismantling of Hamas as a military system and a governing system, and the return of all the hostages to their homes."
