A Federal High Court sitting in Benin City has adjourned to July 24, 2024 for further hearing on a case between Business Owners Association,Edo/ Delta and Benin Electricity Distribution Company, (BEDC) on the recent increase of electricity tariff  In the suit No. FHC/B/CS/43/2024, before Honourable Justice B. O.Quadri said the adjournment was to enable the defendant, BEDC, to file their reply on why it will not be restricted completely from executing the new introduced tariff increase. Business Owners Association,Edo/ Delta has approached the Federal high court in Benin, seeking that the BEDC be restrained from implementing the new tariff being proposed by the company. The distribution company is expected to file their reply within the period of adjournment. A Benin High court has issued a certificate of " Execution Of Warrant Of Possession " to Mr Frank Omo- Amadasun in order to take a full Possession of his landed property situated at Zone MD/A44/OBAZAGBON in lkpoba Okha Local Government Area of Edo State.  The certificate is the aftermath of a judgement of piece or parcel of land measuring 1,000 feet by 1,000 feet delivered in favour of Mr Frank Omo Amadasun in a high court in Benin city presided over by Hon Justice AN Erhabor. The President of Traders Welfare Union of Nigeria, Comrade Lucky Orukpe, said this while addressing journalists at the premises of the Edo Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists during a peaceful protest in Benin City earlier today.
