May Day: Edo deputy speaker felicitate with workers

The Deputy Speaker of Edo House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Mrs) Maria Oligbi-Edeko has extended her good wishes to Nigerian workers, particularly workers in Edo State on this years workers Day celebration. 

In a statement, Oligbi-Edeko described Nigeria and Edo workers as the mainstay of the economy, adding that, without them, there could be no economic activity of any kind. 

 The Deputy Speaker stated that workers were the key drivers of development. Despite the challenges they face, they remained the most dedicated, committed and hardworking. 

"I celebrate Edo workers for staying positive and committed as well as contributing to every efforts of the state government in ensuring that we Make Edo Great Again, '' she said. 

She promised that the state House of Assembly was committed to ensuring protection of workers’ rights and will support all efforts aimed at ensuring workers are adequately rewarded and well catered for.

Catholic Priest dumps Christianity for traditional religion after completing PhD on rainmaking

Dr Echezona Obiagbaosogu, a Catholic priest, has abandoned Christianity for African traditional religion after his PhD project. His PhD project is said to be on rainmaking in Igboland and he said the insight he gained during his research made him change the course of his spiritual pursuit. According to reports , Obiagbaosogu, who teaches African Traditional Religion at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, in Anambra State, said he was fascinated by the traditional African spirituality and the art of rainmaking. After defending his PhD Dissertation titled “Rainmaking and Control in Igbo African Medicine,” on Wednesday, he said Africa possesses enormous resources and value which have been eroded by colonial powers. Warning: Adulterated Palm Oil Enters Markets, Dealer Shares Tips to Recognise Them

Fake palm oil is said to have entered several markets in six states of Nigeria and is still spreading into others. A few arrests, according to reports, have been made, and laboratory testing of seized samples revealed high acid content, and other substances believed to cause cancer. Market dealers and sellers have raised alarm over the fake and adulterated palm oil now selling in markets across Nigeria.
