This declaration was made by the  Chief UNICEF Lagos Field Office, Celine Lafoucriere, in Benin City the Edo State capital at a-two day Media dialogue to support advocacy to end Female Genital Mutilation in Nigeria organised by the Oyo State Ministry of information and Orientation in collaboration with UNICEF. AAU Ekpoma Gets New Vice Chancellor

By Chris Tony Akhabue  Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the appointment of Professor Eunice Eboserehimen Omonzejie as the Vice Chancellor of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, effective immediately. The appointment comes after the Governor accepted the recommendation of the University's Governing Council, which shortlisted three candidates for the position. Professor Omonzejie, a renowned scholar of French and Francophone African Literatures, has served as a long-standing academic in the Department of Modern Languages at AAU. Her impressive academic credentials include co-editing notable works such as "French Language in Nigeria: Essays in Honour of UFTAN Pacesetters" and "Language Matters in Contemporary West Africa". AAU, Ekpoma Embarks On Security Enhancement Projects

Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, has commenced construction work on a multipurpose car parking lot for students, marking a significant step in the implementation of the Governing Council’s approved security architecture. The management team under the leadership of Prof. Sunday Olowo Samuel, according to Otunba Mike Aladenika, Principal Assistant Registrar and Head of Information, Public Relations, and Protocol, is driving this initiative to enhance the university’s security infrastructure. A.......as contractors appeal to residents, commuters for patience  The Chairman of Ikpoba Hill Youth Association, Comrade Kingsley Osemwingie and residents of Ikpoba Hill have appealed to the federal government through the Federal Ministry of Works, the Edo State governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, to urgently intervene in the ongoing efforts to remedy the dilapidated Benin- Asaba road which has become impassable because of its deplorable state. He made the call yesterday in Benin City the Edo State capital while leading some youths in a   peaceful protest at the worsening road site. BENIN CITY – The Ossiomo Power, an indigenous electricity firm, said it is the rightful owner of critical power infrastructure currently at Ologbo, Edo State. Findings indicate that Ossiomo has held exclusive rights to the gas infrastructure and power facilities since 2008, backed by statutory licences and approvals for power generation and transmission within Edo State. The company is confirmed to be the sole owner of the power generating plant, the transmission network, and associated gas infrastructure tied to the project. According to the Deputy General Manager of the company , Engnr. Francis Ekwe, it is clear that CCETC’s involvement was limited to a contract executed in 2018 for the supply and installation of engines for the Independent Power Project (IPP1).  The contract, however, did not transfer or confer ownership of any facilities to the Chinese firm.
