Land Grabbing: Edo community calls for verification of documents

Azagba Community in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Council Area of Edo State, has called on property developers in the locality to come forward with all the necessary documents for verification.

The Community made the call via a public notice dated 6 September, 2024 and signed by the Odionwere (Village Head), Pa. Jonah Evbuomwan, Ozukpogieva (Second - in Command), Pa. Sunday Osagie and the Community Secretary, Mr. Lawson Erhabor respectively; and availed the media in Benin a couple of days ago.

The call it stated becomes necessary; "due to a series of complaints emanating from activities of some community youths, land grabbers and unscrupulous elements who are engaged in illegal sales of land and forceful laying of foundations and illegal occupation of land in the community."

All land owners; corporate and private individuals with property interest in Azagba are therefore directed to come forward, with the relevant documents for verification, it was stated.

They are expected to meet with the 'Verification Committee' at the Community Town Hall beginning from on the 6 September, to December, 2024. Time is 9a.m to 4p.m daily, the public notice added.
