... I laughed it off when he told me he wanted to pursue a University degree- Barrister Omoruyi

It was all pomp and pageantry yesterday in Benin-City, the Edo State capital, as the Chairman of Ikpoba Hill Youths Association, Hon. Kingsley Osemwingie, Signs out of the department of Social Works, of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the prestigious University of Benin with Bachelor's of Science degree, (B.Sc)

The event which attracted the graduands, friends and family members and colleagues was a moment of joy for all as it was also a moment of reflection for the graduating students, parents and family members recalling the hard road that culminated in the success which all and sundry had gathered to relish.
According to Hon. Kingsley Osemwingie, who was visibly elated, it was all thanks to God who made it possible.

According to him," I am very happy to see my dream come true. I want to thank God for making this day possible. I thank God for giving me the strength and the wisdom to accomplish what we are all gathered here today to celebrate. I want to thank God for giving me the strength to follow up with the lectures and the course work. I also want to thank my lovely wife for her support all through the period. she was always there reminding me of my lecture periods and all her encouragements. I want to thank my father, my brothers and siblings.I also want to appreciate my lecturers, my Head of department, the Dean of faculty and my friends and course mates who were very supportive in putting me through some of the challenging issues associated with academic work. I also want to thank the entire management of the University of Benin for creating a peaceful and harmonious academic environment for learning which has made our graduation possible".

He advised the Nigerian youths to embrace education as it is a lifetime weapon for survival.
" I want to encourage our youths to embrace education. Education is not a Scam as some are fond of saying. Education is a weapon for survival, it is a key to success because with education, you are equipped to face most life's challenges as it brightens your perceptions about issues and life generally".

Also speaking to the press at a reception in his honor, Mrs Sandra Omoyemweh Osemwingie, the wife of the graduand, said she admired the husband's courage and determination to pursue his heart desire.
" I admire his focus, his drive, his courage and determination to pursue his heart desire. I remember when he wanted to start. I remember asking him if he could pull it through and he said he will and I am happy he was able to do it and I am happy he has come out in flying colors. My advice to him and his school mates is that they should keep the flag flying as the sky is their limit.

On his part, a very close associate of the graduand, Barrister Happy Omoruyi said he just laughed it off when his friend, Kingsley Osemwingie told him he was going to pursue a degree program at the University. He said he laughed because he didn't know how he was going to cope, combining the rigorous academic work with the daily hustle to meet up with family and personal needs.

" When he told me he was going to pursue a degree program at the University, I just laughed it off as a joke because I didn't see how he was going to cope, but today, you can see how far he has gone. I know it wasn't easy though but I know God was on his side coupled with the support of his family particularly his wife and today he is a graduate and all thanks to God and to his family for making this a possibility".
