Dickson’s Political Credibility, Integrity, Attracting Political Heavyweights Into NDC - TDM

The National Coordinator of The Dickson Movement (TDM) and prominent member of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Comrade Emmanuel Ogbidi, has attributed the growing interest of prominent politicians in the party to the political credibility, integrity and leadership qualities of the party’s National Leader, Distinguished Senator Henry Seriake Dickson.

Ogbidi stated this in a statement made available to journalists in Benin City, stressing that the growing movement of established political figures into the NDC was an indication of increasing confidence in the party and its leadership.

According to him, the political credentials of Dickson are increasingly attracting politicians from different parts of the country who, he said, are looking for a political platform founded on what they consider to be integrity, consistency and credible leadership.

He said, “Very recently, we witnessed the entry of another prominent political figure into the NDC. This development is a clear indication that the political integrity and credibility of our National Leader, Distinguished Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, is attracting political heavyweights and respected figures from across Nigeria.

“From the North to the South, East and West, more political leaders are beginning to identify with the NDC because they believe the party is built on a solid foundation capable of withstanding the challenges associated with Nigeria’s political environment.”

Ogbidi maintained that the development would become more pronounced as the country approaches the 2027 general elections, predicting increased movement of politicians and other stakeholders into the NDC.

He said the party was positioning itself to mobilise support across the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory, adding that its leadership would continue to welcome individuals who share its political ideals.

“The political season we are entering will bring more individuals into the NDC. As we approach the 2027 elections, we expect to see increased mobilisation and support for the party and its candidates across the country,” he said.

The TDM coordinator further described Dickson as a leader whose political conduct, according to him, has continued to inspire confidence among politicians within and outside the NDC.

He said the former Bayelsa State governor’s reputation for consistency and political integrity had contributed to the growing visibility of the NDC.

Ogbidi also welcomed the recent defection of former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the NDC, describing him as an experienced political figure whose participation would add value to the party.

“We welcome him and join the National Leader of our great party in welcoming him to the NDC. We also look forward to welcoming more people of his calibre into the party.

“We believe that by bringing experienced political leaders and stakeholders together, we can contribute meaningfully to the effort to move Nigeria forward,” Ogbidi said.

He called on other politicians and Nigerians who share the party’s aspirations to consider joining the NDC, expressing confidence that the party would continue to expand its political base ahead of the 2027 elections.

Ogbidi added that the growing interest in the party demonstrated what he described as increasing national acceptance of the NDC and confidence in its leadership.
