2023: Osarodion Ogie should remember there is God- Corsby Eribo

 Hon Corsby Eribo, the All Progressives Congress candidate contesting for  Egor/ Ikpoba Okha Federal House Representatives in the 2023 general elections has said that the Secretary to the Edo State government (SSG), Hon. Osarodion Ogie Esq should remember there is God.

 

He made this remark recently at his estate in Benin city the Edo State capital while playing host to guests and well-wishers who paid him a visit during his birthday anniversary celebration.

According to him, "today is my birthday and so, I  thank God  for protecting me and my family and I want to also thank all my people who you see around me right now. I want to thank them for believing in me for the transparent and honest leadership God enabled me to give them which  they  enjoyed and valued so much. 

"You remember that I was council Chairman twice, Edo House of Assembly member twice and they enjoyed the transparent and quality leadership and representation in those times and now, I am going to Abuja to represent them again, that is, Ikpoba Okha/Egor Federal constituency at the Federal House of Representatives and I believe that this is the time the people of this constituency will witness quality representation. So, what you are witnessing around me and my people today is their expression of  love for me.

" You can see that this is not a rented crowd because this is not a campaign rally but just people with genuine love and intent, who have come to express their appreciation.

"We have  nurtured a relationship built on mutual understanding and respect established  on a foundation of transparency and trust. It is not easy to build people".

On what he would do differently if  eventually elected, he said there is room for improvement. He said he would engage his constituents regularly in town hall meetings to engage them in constructive discussions with a view to ascertaining what they want, not just representing without feedbacks from the people.

He however said that the Secretary to the Edo State government  Hon. Osarodion Ogie has not been fair to  Egor people for his alleged role in making sure only Ikpoba Okha people get political positions while people from Egor are sidelined.

"For 24 years, Egor has been marginalised  and cheated with the connivance of Hon Osarodion Ogie".

"Ogie should remember there is God.

"People of  Egor are not stupid.

"We are tired of being slaves

"Ogie was  chief of staff and later  commissioner for works and later became SSG till present moment"

" Go and do your findings and you will find out that for 24 years till date, only Ikpoba Okha people get elected to house of representatives, it is not fair", he lamented.

Speaking to the press at the occasion, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Emmanuel Iyase,  observed that Hon Eribo has been a close friend of his, a boss and leader. He said that the people of Egor were happy to have Eribo contesting for  the Egor/ Ikpoba Okha federal constituency at the house of representatives stressing that the people would benefit immensely from his representation when eventually elected. 

According to him, " we are happy to have him running to represent the people of Egor/ Ikpoba Okha federal constituency at the house of representatives because he has the capability and capacity.

"I have  confidence in him and the party has confidence in his capacity because of his antecedents"

He further said that he share the same view that the inequitable and lopsided distribution of political positions in Egor and Ikpoba Okha was unfair to Egor people.

According to him,

 "for only Ikpoba Okha local government to be representing the constituency at the house of representatives  for  24 years now  to the exclusion of  Egor is unfair" 

"We are not against Ikpoba Okha people but we are only saying that it would only be fair to also allow someone from Egor to also represent the constituency as Ikpoba Okha has been there now for almost 24 years" he concluded.
