IF EDO WERE YOUR PRIVATE BUSINESS, WHO WOULD YOU EMPLOY TO MANAGE ITS AFFAIRS?

As the envisaged terminal date of the administration of Obaseki draws closer , political parties, interest groups, individuals and stake holders are jostling for a replacement.
Interestingly, there is a growing consensus embedded in the consciousness of fair minded individuals that the next governor of Edo state should be of Esan extraction for obvious reasons.
Expectedly, many interested individuals and politicians from that axis have indicated interest and are warming up for the contest.
Edo not being inoculated or immuned from the profound national crisis, notably in the economic and security spheres, dilapidated infrastructure, gross unemployment, therefore, is in dire need of a Manager of men and resources who can re-engineer the socio-economic and political dynamics to engender social basic needs such as food security, housing and security of lives and property of the citizens.
Unfortunately, it has been observed that democracy most often times throw up the wrong people for such sensitive positions of leadership as governors and Presidents of nations.
We must therefore, at this critical time in our history as a people in search of an enduring legacy of hope, peace , unity and sustainable socio economic partway, engender conscious and concerted efforts to midwife democracy such that it doesn't throw up the wrong leaders, as such wrong choice has significant far reacting detrimental and overriding effect on the polity and consequently on the lives of the citizens.
It is however such an unfortunate drama in Nigeria politics as power is relational and often an emotive transaction where issues of capacity, antecedents, moral standing, principles of leadership, and a demonstration of ability to create new vision to take the people to achieve their personal visions are sacrificed at the instance of mundane and primordial incontinence.
If truth must be told, Edo at this time, more than ever before , needs good leadership and must push primordial sentiments to the background if we want to progress because the consequences of bad leadership and poor governance affects all, no matter the ethnic group, religious affiliations, or social class.
Therefore, Edo 2024 governorship election cannot afford to follow the trajectory of being influenced by religious, ethnic and party affiliation or sentiments as such will be our bane.
Critical situations require critical evaluations. Therefore the critical question the electorate must ask whether you are Bini, Afemai, Owan, Akoko Edo or Esan is:
If Edo state were to be your personal company, who among the candidates for the position of governor will you employ to manage its affairs? The answer to this question will help you reflect on the bases of your choice of candidate.
Should your choice not be the
man with the midas touch who can create, build and sustain business empires from next to nothing ?
One who has been able to grow his own business empires from grass to grace and consequently empowered millions of Nigerians through gainful employments and other meaningful endeavours.?
Should your choice be one who has done not much to affect and improve himself and humanity? One who waits on government patronage? One who has been able to grow and build himself with slush recipe from government contracts? One without basic rudiments of financial accumen? One who drives exotic cars and live flamboyant live style on our collective patrimonial plenitude?
Or one when asked, what do you do for a living and he says, I am a politician. Is politician a profession?
This is the time for us the electorates and opinion moulders to ventilate and distil Issues to set agenda of who becomes the next governor of Edo state of Esan extraction.
And that competent manager we have found.
