Obaseki hails Ighodalo's appointment as Nigerian Breweries board chair

The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has applauded the appointment of the Chairman of Sterling Bank, Dr. Asue Ighodalo as the Chairman of Nigerian Breweries Plc.

In a letter, the governor said the appointment was well-deserved and “an affirmation of years of work in building a solid reputation as Nigeria's leading boardroom maestro.”

According to the governor, “Permit me to extend hearty congratulations on your well-deserved appointment as the Board Chairman of the Nigerian Breweries Plc, Nigeria’s foremost brewer.

“The appointment is an affirmation of the years of work in building a solid reputation as Nigeria’s leading boardroom maestro and businessman, having served on the boards of different companies across various sectors of the economy.

“With a track record of excellence and an unbending will to strive for the best at all times, you have once again been recognised with this appointment as a starfish who cannot be hidden.

“You have carried yourself as a worthy ambassador of Edo State, with an unmistakable drive to succeed even in the most trying times, turning around the fortunes of the businesses you have sired or overseen over the years.”

He added: “I celebrate your genius and commitment to perfection and believe that you will bring your excellent work ethic to bear in charting a new course for the next phase of growth for the Nigerian Breweries.

“On behalf of the Government and good people of Edo State, I congratulate you on this fitting appointment and am assured that you will surely transform the fortunes of the company.”
