Dorry Okojie's Commitment To Growth Continuity

There are basically, in all societies, two categories of people. One, those whose thinking, words or actions elevates his people centuries ahead of their peers, and whose behaviors help to advance the trajectory of history positively.

The other category is the bungling bull in a China shop who destroys all inherited legacies leaving his people centuries backwards.

The outgoing governor of Edo state, Mr Godwin Obaseki and Dr Dorry Afe Okojie, a perfect replacement, are symbolic of the first category of people found in every society.

As we all know, the  tenure of  Godwin Obaseki  is gradually coming to an end and attention is being drawn closely to the score card to ascertain the measure of success or otherwise made during the period under review because the whole essence of  governance  is essentially to bring development to the people.

As the state actors and other politically minded groups and individuals are in search of a suitable successor, what of course, should be paramount in the minds of all is growth continuity.

Progressive gains of continuity in governance engender rapid and sustainable development of the overall socio-economic and political architecture of a society.

It is on record that the outgoing government of Godwin Obaseki has achieved so much in the period under review.

Some of the major unprecedented achievements of his administration which are not much talked about are the envisaged high yields of the  long term projects of a man  with  eyes for the future.

One of such thoughtful people centric initiatives is the modular refinery which has already gone into almost full scale production which will sooner or later be a leading catalyst for economic change and dominant employer of labour in Edo state. The huge  benefits  to Edo people from such commendable endeavour is enormously limitless.

The Osiomo  power project is yet  one other foresight of a responsible governor who is desirous of his name enameled in the sands of time. The enormous possibilities and potentials of a steady and regular power supply  has the advantage of boosting and stimulating upsurge in steady socio economic growth of Edo state.

These two carefully conceived people oriented giant endeavours of Godwin Obaseki, just to mention only these two,  are   capable of turning Edo state into an economic hub, a   model worthy of emulation and therefore would ultimately require a competent  successor who would tend and nurture these patrimonial heritage to blossom .

This is the more reason why every well meaning Edo person should clamour for and support the emergence of a builder and developer, Dr Dorry Afe Okojie, who will dislodge every other incontinence but consolidate on the overall socio-economic heritage of the state by ensuing continuity of the good legacies of the out going governor, while marshaling out his own original developmental blueprint, for it is only in such gesture  that the state would avoid being on a rocking horse that goes nowhere.
