Edo Journalist’s Daughter Bags UNIBEN Award in Physiotherapy




Pretty Miss Ehiaghe Iziegbe Ikhili, daughter of Mr. Ebalu Ikhili, a member of the Correspondent Chapel of the Edo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), has been bestowed the award of best graduating student as Neurological Physiotherapy Specialist of the University of Benin.

She got the award on the occasion of her oath taking/induction as a Physiotherapist at the Akin Deko Main Auditorium of the University of Benin, on Wednesday morning.

Miss Iziegbe was also presented with the second best award in an examination conducted by the department for the inductees graduated from the Department of Physiotherapy, School of Basic Medical Sciences, College of Medical Sciences, University of Benin (UNIBEN).

The elated Iziegbe, whose joy knew no bound, commended her parents for their investment in her education as well as her lecturers for impacting knowledge on her.

Also speaking, the inductee’s father, Mr. Ebalu Ikhili, poured encomiums on her for justifying his investment on her education. He urged her to be a good ambassador of the family and her alma mater.

In his welcome address, Professor Kayode Oke, Head of Department of Physiotherapy, urged the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Lillian Salami to consider appointing excellent students among the inductees to join the academic strength of the department. He said that the department requires more hands and personnel.
