Why Dorry Okojie Has Youths Buy- in for Edo Governorship Aspiration

A total of 75.4 percent of Nigeria's voter population are between the ages of 18 and 49, while 39.65 percent of the voters are between the ages of 18 and 34.
These statistics from the Independent National Electoral Commission clearly show that when adequately mobilised, the youths will be determining who gets what in the contestation for elective offices in Nigeria.

It is against this background it's gratifying to note that Edo youths have keyed into the gubernatorial aspiration of Dr. Efosa Dorry Okojie (EDO). They have demonstrated their unalloyed buy-in, not only in words, but in deeds as they're taking practical steps at every political bend for the realization of his aspiration. 

The first of such steps is the erection of bill boards of Dorry Okojie across the nooks and crannies of Edo State.

The youths have organised themselves into various groups across the state, contributed resources with which they're erecting Dr. Dorry Okojie's bill boards across the state. The public visibility of Dorry Okojie as far as the 2024 Edo  governorship election is concerned is unparalleled and intimidating, courtsey,  Edo youths.

The youths are doing this because of the enormous confidence they repose in Dorry Okojie's ability to prudently manage the state's resources with a view to creating enabling environment for the provision of  basic necessities of life.

They see Dorry Okojie as a role model in the management of his business, that he has not been channeling his profits into projects and investments of doubtful value. They are sure he will replicate same when given the opportunity to govern Edo State and ensure the state's economy operates at full capacity.

Edo youths are also convinced that Dorry Okojie has the capacity to calibrate the state economy to stimulate industrial production which will ultimately create employment opportunities for them and improve their livelihood.

These are the reasons Edo youths are bonding with Dr. Dorry Okojie's gubernatorial aspiration.
