The Publicity Secretary and Image maker of the Edo state Labour Party, Comrade Sam Oroupa has described as unfounded and grossly misleading, the spurious, preposterous and erroneous  allegations trending on some social media platforms by one Apst. Jegede Idemudia describing the misleading false alarm as an exercise in futility with the sole aim to malign the impeccable credentials of the national party Chairman, Barr Julius Abure and the state chairman, Comrade Kelly Ogbaloi.

This was contained in a release signed and made available to the Press earlier today in Benin city the Edo state Capital.

According to Comrade Oroupa, some of the unfounded and grossly misleading information are that,,

"Julius Abure is the former Acting national Chairman of Labour Party and was never elected in any convention as national Chairman of Labour Party. He had been restrained by a High Court from parading himself as the Acting national Chairman of LP and currently undergoing interrogation at the Force Headquarters for series of criminal allegations against him and members of his gang". 

And again that,"Kelly Ogbaloi is the former Chairman of LP in Edo State. His tenure has expired after 13 years of his illegal occupation of the office and currently on suspension from the party for his anti-party activities and love for the criminal activities of Julius Abure".

According to Comrade Sam Oroupa, "Our party would not have bothered joining issues with the author of the malicious and unfounded vituperations as it is totally devoid of sound reasoning but  if allowed to slide, it could mislead the simple minded and unsuspecting individuals like the author  and so  this explanation however becomes  imperative to dispel the futile attempt to disparage the impeccable credentials of the principal officers of our great party by those seeking to stand facts on its head with an intent to tarnish the image of our party and the moral strength of character of our leaders, therefore  this is to put the record in its proper perspective.

"His perjuratory remarks about our highly respected national chairman, Barr Julius Abure and our conduct compliance and integrity award winning state chairman, comrade Kelly Ogbaloi, to the best of interpretations, are dilusional conjectures indicative of an unsound vetuperations emanating from pedestrianism of a thought process of absurdity lacking in merit, objectivity or common sensorial wisdom expedient of sound mental postulations.

According to Comrade Oroupa,

"Jegede is not a member of the party at the ward and local government level and therefore lacks the rudimentary knowledge of the workings of Labour party with sound internal party democracy.

"There is no faction in Labour Party both at the National and at the State levels, neither was there a time the leadership of the Party was suspended. Labour party is one indivisible political entity under the leadership of our distinguished Barr. Dr. Julius Abure, National chairman and Comrade Kelly Ogbaloi, IION (Integrity Icon of Nigeria), Edo State chairman. 

" You will Recall that recently Benin High Court came out with a judgement reaffirming and validating the Chairmanship of Barr. Julius Abure as National Chairman of the Labour Party

"You will recalled also, the judgement by the Edo State High Court on the 26th May 2023 where Justice Emmanuel Okey Aihamoje in Suit No: HUC/21/2023 said the party in Uromi ward 3 lack the power under the labour party constitution particularly Article 13 and the Electoral Act 2022 as amended to remove the national chairman of the party. The judge subsequently imposed perpetual injunction against the tragic power seeking Lamidi Apapa and his cohorts or faction from removing and or suspending Barr. Julius Abure as the national Chairman, pending when the national convention of the party is convened.

"I can vividly recall when Jegede came to labour party between June/ July, 2022 as a messenger to Hon. Murphy Imasuen to Labour Party office in Benin City, begging for Uhunmwode House of Assembly ticket and he was given a trial after granting him free waiver by the party and was given the ticket. He could not print a single campaign poster for himself, rather, in his dubious life style, traded the ticket for 15 million Naira and disappeared. Instead of covering his head in shame, he is back making unfounded and unbelievable allegations against the party leadership". 

" It is ironic that Apostate Jegede who sold out LP is asking for accountability. can he please tell the public how much was the money collected by officials of LP since he knows about it?

" LP agents at the various polling units have all received their money through their LGAs and wards chairmen.

" For over 20 years, comrade Dr. Julius Abure and distinguished comrade Ogbaloi have grown and nurtured LP when many who are now sponsors of Apostate Jegede were still in nursery schools and many who sponsored him to be writing trash were no where to be found, they all ran away.

"Thank God Jegede admitted that for the past 13 years ago, Abure and Kelly tenures have expired, can he also now tell where and what was he in LP in that space of time? 

"As the Publicity Secretary of Labour Party, Edo State, I want to say categorically clear here that Apostate Jegede Idemudia is not a member of labour party and henceforth disregard whatever he says regarding the party or on behalf of the party as the purported criminal allegations he raised against Barr. Julius Abure and Comrade Kelly Ogbaloi are all false and baseless.

"Apostate Jegede is only basking in the euphoria of his ignorance hence he is relying on the purported Imo State judgment conducted in error. 

"All the allegations are elevated and bogus falsehood by moles planted by political enemies to discredit and tarnish the unblemished moral pedestals of our officials and the party itself.

“It was insensitively laughable and defaming to speculate and assert without any iota of  truth nor proof what he is incapable of adequately comprehending.

“In the light of the above therefore, I would urge all our highly esteemed members of the Obidient family and our teeming supporters to disregard the jaundiced and unfounded invectives lacking in moral or intellectual suasion and I urge you all to focus more on our collective and unflinching resolve to take back our country from the labyrinth of vicious circle of bad governance and be fully committed in our resolve to build an egalitarian society where everyone would be equal before the law and I urge you all to support all our labour party candidates for the local government Chairmen election and the Edo 2024 governorship elections, the statement concluded.
