Armed Fulani Herdsmen Invades Isi Community In Uhunmwonde

A group of Fulani herdsmen reported to be fully armed with guns and machetes has invaded Isi community in Uhunmwonde Local Govt. Area of Edo state.

The incident was confirmed by team of investigative journalists on Sept. 10th 2022.

An elder in the community, Mr. Akusu, regretted that, one Mr. Iruemwense Osagie ( retired Journalist ) and his wife 

were killed alongside with scores of others, when the gunmen invaded their farms in the morning hours of Sept.9th, 2022 .

When the late Mr Iruemwense Osagie was a practicing Journalist, he writes critically on the deadly attacks by the Fulani herdsmen against farmers and the deplorable security situation and Government's insufficient efforts towards protection of lives and properties in the state. 

The only survivor during the attack was said to be Mr Clifford Osagie, the son of the late veteran Journalist. But he was incidentally knocked down by a speeding vehicle as he was running for his life and was said to have sustained serious injuries with fracture and sympathizers rushed him to a traditional bone doctor. 

The natives of the community emphatically said that the action and conduct exhibited by the herdsmen suggested that the family of the late veteran Journalist was their main target for elimination. 

All efforts made to reach the said Clifford Osagie was unsuccessful as he was said to have been relocated from the original place of treatment to an unknown location for security reasons . However, the members of Isi community are still in fear as they claim to be unaware of adequate security measures in place to arrests any unforseen aggression.
