  Edo State’s 2024 gubernatorial election may turn out to be more complex than previous elections in the State where the outcomes were largely predictable. This time around, there are several intricacies that may leave the discerning voters thinking deeply before casting their votes. The Edo State chapter of Labour Party (LP) has faulted the final list as published by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in which the deputy governorship candidate is listed as Oluyinka Faith Alufohai rather than LP validly nominated running mate, Alhaji Asamah Yusuf Kadiri, (SAN). Chairman of the Edo State chapter of Labour Party (LP), Comrade Kelly Ogbaloi has debunked a statement credited to him by some online newspapers that the LP governorship candidate in the September 21, 2024 gubernatorial election, Barr. Olumide Akpata’s invitation to the Uniben Staff Club was a private affair, which had nothing to do with the party.
