Edo Peoples Democratic Party Can't Win Election With A Divided House -Barrister Oni Edigin

Barrister Godwin Oni Edigin has said that the Edo Peoples Democratic party (PDP) can not win the Edo governorship election with a divided house.

He made the statement in his Benin city office over the weekend while chatting with news men.

According to Barrister Godwin Eguavoen Obaghoghoyi,  Oni Edigin, a retired police officer, one of the founding fathers of the Edo Peoples Democratic party, a cultural interpreter, said that the biggest challenge facing the PDP today is that of personal and factional interest.

"The biggest challenge in the PDP today is the problem of personal and factional interest. That is what is destroying the party.

"They said they have settled all their matters. I pray they are able to settle their differences but from my own understanding and observation, the issues are not yet resolved.

"Some members of a faction are happy with their manipulations while the dissatisfied ones are quarrelling.  They have not actually sat down to look at the root cause of the whole problem.

"With a divided house, the PDP can not win an election . For example, the last election we had for the Senate and house of representatives was lost  because of the division and that was enough for them to sit down to find a lasting solution.

"My advice is that people should set aside their selfish personal and factional interest for the overall interest of the party because that is the only way members will willingly be interested to give their best for the victory of the party .

The erudite Barrister at law however advised the Party to reach out to all the aggrieved members of the party in both the old and new PDP if victory can be obtained

"I can see that the PDP Candidate, Barrister Asue Ighodalo and his running mate, Barr Osarodion Ogie are reaching out to members of the party for the Edo governorship election coming up in September this year and if they are able to reach out to both the old and new PDP members then they can be sure of victory in the coming governorship election in Edo".
