Deputy speaker Edo State House of Assembly salutes Matthew Okpebholo on his birthday



The Deputy Speaker of Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon (Mrs.) Maria Omozele Oligbi-Edeko has celebrated Matthew Okpebholo, Bishop, Church of God Mission, Uromi on his birthday anniversary. 

In a statement, Oligbi-Edeko described Bishop Okpebholo as an educationist, a true man of God and a philanthropist per excellence who has provided solutions and contributed to the development of the state. 

She also described him as a very simple clergyman with a kind heart, who has made worshipping God so appealing to the people. 

On behalf of the people of Esan North-East constituency 2, I pray that the good Lord preserve his kind heart and keep it pure and may he build a thicker hedge of protection around you and your family in Jesus' name. Happy birthday son of the most high God!

Catholic Priest dumps Christianity for traditional religion after completing PhD on rainmaking

Dr Echezona Obiagbaosogu, a Catholic priest, has abandoned Christianity for African traditional religion after his PhD project. His PhD project is said to be on rainmaking in Igboland and he said the insight he gained during his research made him change the course of his spiritual pursuit. According to reports , Obiagbaosogu, who teaches African Traditional Religion at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, in Anambra State, said he was fascinated by the traditional African spirituality and the art of rainmaking. After defending his PhD Dissertation titled “Rainmaking and Control in Igbo African Medicine,” on Wednesday, he said Africa possesses enormous resources and value which have been eroded by colonial powers.
