Retins Entertainment Honours Kingsley Osemwigie

The Chairman of Ikpoba Hill Youths Forum, Ambassador Kingsley Osemwigie, was, over the weekend, in Benin City, the Edo State capital, honoured by Retins Entertainment with an Ambassador of Peace Honours Award in recognition of his contributions towards the continued peace in Ikpoba Hill.

Recall that the recipient of the award, Ambassador Kingsley Osemwigie is the chairman of Ikpoba Hill Youths Association in Ikpoba Okha local government area who has been variously recognized for maintaining peace through consistent engagements with the youths of the community which is said to be productive as there are no history of violence and killings in the area as witnessed recently in other parts of the Benin metropolis as a result of cult war.

Speaking to the press at the occasion, one of the organizers of the event, Ambassador Prince Retins Osanyande, founder and CEO of Retins Entertainment, pointed out that the awardees are rightly deserving of the honours because according to him, they are philanthropists who are responsible community leaders who have helped the community one way or the other.

The recipient, Ambassador Kingsley Osemwigie said it was a thing of joy to be recognized for something worthwhile, for efforts that adds value to humanity and the Society at large adding that it was significant to note that people are recognizing and rewarding the good efforts of others. He further reinstated his unflinching resolve to continue to uphold values that would continue to engender peace, love, harmony and unity in Ikpoba Hill and in every other sphere he would find himself.

According to him," it is a thing of joy that I am being recognized to be honored today for my contributions to continually upholding the tenets that engenders peace in my community. It is heartwarming to know that there are people who are taking notes of our individual contributions in our communities and so, for me, this is a wake up call not to renege but to double my efforts at fostering values that would continue to engender peace in our communities. I want to say however, that, this award is not about me but for the entire executive team and members of Ikpoba Hill Youths Forum because without the collaboration of these great people, it would not have been possible for us to attain the peaceful cohabitation we are celebrating today.

He therefore urged all well meaning Edo people and Nigerians as a whole to imbibe the culture of following the path of peace without which no meaningful development can be achieved.

" I therefore use this opportunity to call on all well meaning Edo people and Nigerians, particularly Youth leaders in other communities to emulate Ikpoba Hill Youths and come together as we have done in Ikpoba Hill community and speak with one voice with the aim of upholding the tenets and values that engender peace in our communities and wherever we might find ourselves because without peaceful coexistence, meaningful development is a mere illusion to be pursued but never attained".

He therefore called on the government to partner with Youth leaders in the various communities in the state with a view to finding sustainable solutions to incessant violent crimes as a result of cultism while advising the youths against allowing themselves to be used by politicians as thugs in the coming Edo governorship election.

Other recipients at the event include, Ambassador Kingsley Okundia, Honourable Kingsley Omobude, Elder Friday Igba, Ambassador Ernest Okunrobo, Sylvester Erunmonmase etc.
