EDO CENTRAL SENATORIAL BY-ELECTION: JOSEPH IKPEA FITS THE BILL

One of the ways to measure a man's commitment to a project is the extent to which he is matching his words with actions.

Intentions are easy to declare just as mere proclamations are cheap. It is at the point of action, a man's seriousness is determined and ascertained.

 The deluge of declarations of intentions by increasing numbers of aspirants for the Edo Central Senatorial by-election is getting interestingly amusing. My take on all of this, is that, there has always been, and would always be, a palpable and clearcut dichotomy between fantasy and reality.

 Various political analysts and other stake holders have described the frenzy by the deluge of some aspirants for the vacant position as something not beyond social media improbable mental images expressed in graphics.

 They are working within the realm of fantasy. Imagination is such a beautiful thing that has the capacity to catapult you wherever you desire in the dream world and the social media platforms provide a fertile ground for the flourishing of such fantasies and illusions.

But to our great relief and to the glory of God, there is a ray of hope for the continuation of the quality and astute representation of the district at the Senate as Honourable Joseph Ikpea steps into the race to continue the quality representation as exemplified by Senator Monday Okpebholo, the Edo State governor,who represented the district and later became the governor of the State.

Honourable Joseph Ikpea is the only aspirant in the Edo Central Senatorial district by-election that has scaled the realms of fantasy and moved into the domain of action in his quest to provide commendable representation that engenders the shared vision of sustainable development for the district. 

 Beyond social media razzmatazz of others, his concerted engagements with his constituents, his people centered ideology evinces his altruistic mindset.

For the majority of the people in Edo Central Senatorial district in particular and Edo state in general, Joseph Ikpea needs no introduction . He is a brand name synonymous with excellence in selfless but people-centric service delivery. The unbroken record of excellent service delivery trails his paths in the various private and public engagements from Edo State Library Board, at the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) , as the Council Chairman of Esan South East Local Government Council, at the Ministry of Oil and Gas as a Commissioner in the Obaseki led administration and currently a Director in a globally acclaimed multi- billion dollar Oil and Gas Conglomerate, the testimony remains the same, impeccable. He is poised to replicate his unparalleled quest for excellence in service delivery at the Senate.

Therefore let none be deceived by the pretentious display of visionary fancy on social media platforms by self-serving aspirants as many are called but only Joseph Ikpea is the chosen.

Catholic Priest dumps Christianity for traditional religion after completing PhD on rainmaking

Dr Echezona Obiagbaosogu, a Catholic priest, has abandoned Christianity for African traditional religion after his PhD project. His PhD project is said to be on rainmaking in Igboland and he said the insight he gained during his research made him change the course of his spiritual pursuit. According to reports , Obiagbaosogu, who teaches African Traditional Religion at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, in Anambra State, said he was fascinated by the traditional African spirituality and the art of rainmaking.
