Edo Community Appeals To Oba Ewuare II, Relevant Security agencies For Rescue

The Elders and people of Erie Urhokuosa village Uhunmwonde local government area of Edo State have appealed to His Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare II CFR, to come to aid on what they described as a clandestine plan by one Mr Idele Oronsaye to cause problems in the community 

The Ozukpogieva ( second in command ) Pa Erhunwosere Osayamen made the plea at an enlarged meeting to intimate the people on the recent disturbing development in the village 

Narrating what happened to journalists on the reasons for the enlarged meeting with the people ,Pa Erhunwosere Osayamen said just last month the community was thrown into mourning as a result of the demise of the Odionwere and they were still in the process of the burial arrangement when suddenly one man called Idele Oronsaye came to the village and said the Palace of the Oba of Benin has given him the authority to come and be presiding over the administration of the community and also appointed Okaighele to assist him 

Continuing, the Ozukpogieva said "such thing has never been heard of in the history of the village, as it usually takes three years for another Odionwere to be installed subject to the approval from the palace especially when the Ozukpogieva, ozukpogieha and Ozukpogiene are all there and other edion ( elders) , for this man to now come to say the palace has given him authority to administer the community is unheard of , which is not the custom and traditions of the land " 

In his remarks , the Ozukpogieha of the community ,Pa Charles Ekhator Osaigbovo corroborated what the Ozukpogieva, Pa Erhunwosere Osayamen said , but pointed out that the said Mr Idele Oronsaye , has never joined them in the development of the village and that what he is trying to do is a clandestine plan to cause problem in the peaceful village so that they can carry out their hidden agenda

" we are peace loving people , we respect our Oba as our father and will never go against his wish but for someone to just come from nowhere and say the palace has asked him to take over the administration of the village is something else , especially now that our father is celebrating the annual Igue festival ,who then gave him the purported authority?.It simply shows that the man is out to cause problems for us " he noted 

Also speaking, the general secretary, Mr Samuel Osagie Aiguobasimwin Okaiben and the Okaighele, Osaretin Obazogbon said they have been seeing such things happening in home videos and have been praying that such will never happen in reality but surprisingly it is now happening in Erie Urhokuosa, they noted that for someone to just come out from nowhere that he has been appointed as the Odionwere and he dissolved the elders council and also came with someone to be the Okaighele is out of the ordinary 

They said they do not want problems in the village and would not want to join issues with him hence the appeal to the Oba and relevant security agencies to call him to order before it will escalate to something else 

Meanwhile for reactions via mobile phone , Mr Idele Oronsaye refused to deny nor affirm the allegations asserting that as a retired accountant,he is a responsible person and knows what he is doing 

However efforts to reach the Secretary, Benin Traditional Council (BTC) for further findings was not successful as at the time of filling this report due to the on going celebration of the Igue festival by the Palace
