Edo NUJ To Decorate Gov Okpebholo As Grand Patron February 8




Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, will be formally decorated as the Grand Patron of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) at the 2025 Edo state Journalists Classic Dinner. 

The ceremony which will be a significant highlight of the day will be performed by the National President, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Alhassan Yahya. 

The prestigious event is set to take place at Uyi Grand lnternational Event Centre, Osagiede Street, GRA, Benin city on February 8, 2025, at 4:00 PM and will attract key stakeholders from across the state and beyond. 

Other notable attendees include Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa , APC National Women Leader ,Dr Mrs Idele Alile and the Deputy National President of NUJ, Comrade Abimbola Oyetunde. 
A statement signed by the Chairman of the Edo NUJ Dr Festus Alenkhe and the secretary, Andy Egbon said, members of the 15 chapels of the Edo state council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists are already mobilizing to attend the epoch making event which will have a lot of side attractions.

Catholic Priest dumps Christianity for traditional religion after completing PhD on rainmaking

Dr Echezona Obiagbaosogu, a Catholic priest, has abandoned Christianity for African traditional religion after his PhD project. His PhD project is said to be on rainmaking in Igboland and he said the insight he gained during his research made him change the course of his spiritual pursuit. According to reports , Obiagbaosogu, who teaches African Traditional Religion at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, in Anambra State, said he was fascinated by the traditional African spirituality and the art of rainmaking. After defending his PhD Dissertation titled “Rainmaking and Control in Igbo African Medicine,” on Wednesday, he said Africa possesses enormous resources and value which have been eroded by colonial powers.
