Rt. Hon. (Mrs) Maria Oligbi-Edeko, the former Deputy Speaker of Edo House of Assembly, has commissioned a 500 KVA transformer in Efandion community, emphasising electricity’s vital role in economic growth and community development.

Speaking during the commissioning, Oligbi-Edeko , representing Esan North-east constituency 11 , stated that electricity was the backbone of progress and development

She noted that the new transformer will empower businesses, improve livelihoods, and restore hope for residents leaving along Efandion community Road after years of darkness.

She assured her constituents of continued commitment, promising more infrastructure projects and development initiatives across Esan North East Constituency II to improve residents’ quality of life.

“This transformer marks only the beginning. We will push forward with more projects to bring sustainable change, ensuring all wards enjoy access to essential services,” she affirmed.

The atmosphere in Efandion Road was filled with excitement as the 500 KVA ABB transformer was officially commissioned, bringing much-needed power relief to a community long in darkness.

For years, the Efandion road section of the community had suffered without electricity, enduring daily hardships and setbacks despite numerous appeals and efforts to restore power.

Now, the installation of the new transformer ushers in an era of uninterrupted and stable electricity, promising improved productivity and a brighter future for Efandion residents.

Community leaders, landlords, and residents expressed heartfelt gratitude, commending the lawmaker’s dedication and perseverance in addressing a critical need that had been ignored for too long.

Their stories reflected deep appreciation for Rt. Hon. Maria Oligbi-Edeko’s swift intervention, which they say has transformed daily life and restored their community’s confidence and dignity.

"This project is a clear demonstration of the lawmaker’s resolve to deliver meaningful change, addressing fundamental infrastructure deficits, and improving living conditions in her constituency," they said

In closing, community leaders reiterated their support for Rt. Hon. Maria Oligbi-Edeko, pledging collaboration to sustain progress and ensure continued delivery of democracy’s dividends.

The Efandion community’s renewed hope is a testament to the power of dedicated leadership committed to transforming lives through tangible development projects and responsive governance.
