IKPOBA HILL YOUTHS APPRECIATE GOV OKPEBHOLO ON FLYOVER BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION, APPEALS FOR TRAFFIC DECONGESTION


Youths in Ikpoba Hill in Ikpoba Okha local government area of the state, under the umbrella of Ikpoba Hill Youths Association, have sent a message of appreciation to the Edo State governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, on the laudable projects going on in the state, particularly the ongoing construction of the flyover in the Ramat Park axis in the Benin City metropolis.

In a statement signed by the Youths Chairman, Comrade Kingsley Osemwingie and other officials of the Association which was made available to the press, earlier today, in Benin City, the Edo State capital, the Chairman applauded the giant developmental strides of the Senator Monday Okpebholo' s administration, particularly the ongoing construction of the Ramat Park flyover bridge.

According to the statement, "With grateful hearts, expression of joy, happiness and appreciation to the Edo State governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, we the Ikpoba Hill Youths, under the umbrella of Ikpoba Hill Youths Association, an organization which promotes peaceful co-existence, unity, equity, youths transformation agenda based orientation and the dissemination of useful information that propel youths towards positively ideals are indeed supportive of the developmental stride your administration has brought to this part of the metropolis.

"We support your policies and bold steps taken to promote peace among youths in the state which has been our greatest concern .

"We pray that Ikpoba Hill benefits immensely from the dividends of democracy which we the youths in the area have always hoped and longed for and for which we are excited because your people-centric administration is relentlessly resolved to bringing our shared dreams to reality.

"However, the project which has brought so much excitement to the people of Ikpoba Hill is turning 
  a growing concern in the Ramart Park axis.

"Your Excellency Sir, we would however like to bring to your notice of the unbearable chaotic traffic congestion caused by the construction company handling the flyover project which has started to take an unimaginable toll on the lives of your people in the area and other commuters who ply the road on a daily basis as it is becoming increasingly difficult to navigate the chaotic traffic gridlock
"It is understandable that the disconnection of the passageway as a result of the construction and the attendant toll on commuters are some of the expected sacrifices we need to make as citizens to have a better infrastructure.

"However, to minimize the traffic congestion and reduce its attendant toll on your people, we would like to suggest that the construction company handling the project finds a way to do some comprehensive palliative on both sides of the road where the construction is ongoing to ensure easy vehicular movement so as to alleviate the present hardship on your people.

Comrade Kingsley Osemwegie who was full of praise for the governor's initiative for an overhead bridge, however appealed to the governor to provide more traffic personnel to the construction site to aid in the controlling of traffic to ease off the congestion in the area.

"Your Excellency Sir, additionally, we would also suggest the deployment of more traffic officers and security personnel to the site with a view to controlling the traffic to ensure free flow of traffic and most importantly to apprehend 
recalcitrant and ering motorists who drive one way with a view to beating the gridlock and inadvertently worsening the precarious road situation.

"Our excellency Sir, we commend your laudable efforts at creating a better Edo where everyone is safe and now we believe indeed, that a better Edo is possible and already rising to the glory of God and to the administration of all.

"We want to use this medium to assure you of our unalloyed and unflinching resolve to stand with you and support all positive steps your administration will project for the betterment of the great people of Edo State.

"Keep elevating your people and the ancestors of our land will stand by you for progress.

"We also wish to use this opportunity to congratulate you on your victory which will endure all through your tenure as the Executive governor of our dear state.
"Long live Ikpoba Hill Youths 
Long live Edo State 
Long live Federal Republic of Nigeria", the statement concluded

The Chairman of Ikpoba Hill Youths Association, Comrade Kingsley Osemwigie has admonished the protesters in Ikpoba Hill in Ikpoba Okha local government area of Edo State to shun violence as they participate in the nationwide protest which began yesterday, the 1st of November 2024. Catholic Priest dumps Christianity for traditional religion after completing PhD on rainmaking

Dr Echezona Obiagbaosogu, a Catholic priest, has abandoned Christianity for African traditional religion after his PhD project. His PhD project is said to be on rainmaking in Igboland and he said the insight he gained during his research made him change the course of his spiritual pursuit. According to reports , Obiagbaosogu, who teaches African Traditional Religion at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, in Anambra State, said he was fascinated by the traditional African spirituality and the art of rainmaking.
