Appreciation Message from Hon. Joseph Ikpea, Senator-Elect, Edo Central Senatorial District




With a heart full of gratitude and humility, I, Hon. Joseph Ikpea, Senator-elect, Edo Central Senatorial District, extend my deepest appreciation to the President, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, National Chairman of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), members of the National Working Committee, Edo State Chairman of APC, members of Edo State Working Committee of APC; all local government area Chairmen and their executive members, all ward Chairmen and their executives members, Party leaders, members of Esan Traditional Rulers Council and all Esan people who for the reasons of the good work our Governor, His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo is doing, gave me their overwhelming support in the just concluded senatorial bye election, and every single member of our political family for your unreserved support and commitment during the just-concluded Edo Central Senatorial by-election.

Your collective effort, steadfast dedication, and belief in our shared vision for progress were the driving force behind our resounding victory. From the strategic planning at the national level to the tireless work at the grassroots, each of you played an invaluable role in this triumph. This victory is not mine alone—it belongs to every member of the APC who stood firm in the face of challenges, who believed in our cause, and who worked tirelessly to ensure our success.

To our National Chairman and the National Working Committee, your leadership and guidance have been exemplary. You provided the framework and inspiration that enabled us to achieve this milestone. Your commitment to democracy, fairness, and inclusivity have set a standard that we are proud to follow.

To our APC members at all levels, your dedication and loyalty have been nothing short of inspiring. Your willingness to go above and beyond, to stand in the sun and rain, to knock on doors, and to engage with the people of Edo Central is a confirmation of the strength and unity of our great party.

 Together, we have demonstrated that with solidarity and purpose, we can overcome challenges and fulfill common aspirations. I am deeply honoured to have been elected to represent Edo Central district at the National Assembly, and I pledge to work diligently, to ensure that the trust reposed in me is honored and upheld.

This victory is a mandate—not only to represent but to serve, to uplift, and to deliver on the promises we have made. I assure you all that I will carry the torch of our party with honour and diligence, ensuring that the voice of Edo Central is heard loud and clear in the Senate.

Once again, thank you for your trust, hard work, and your belief in our shared vision. Together, we have shown that the APC is a force for progress, unity, and transformation. Let us continue to work hand in hand to build a brighter future for Edo Central, Edo State, and our great nation, Nigeria.

Catholic Priest dumps Christianity for traditional religion after completing PhD on rainmaking

Dr Echezona Obiagbaosogu, a Catholic priest, has abandoned Christianity for African traditional religion after his PhD project. His PhD project is said to be on rainmaking in Igboland and he said the insight he gained during his research made him change the course of his spiritual pursuit. According to reports , Obiagbaosogu, who teaches African Traditional Religion at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, in Anambra State, said he was fascinated by the traditional African spirituality and the art of rainmaking. After defending his PhD Dissertation titled “Rainmaking and Control in Igbo African Medicine,” on Wednesday, he said Africa possesses enormous resources and value which have been eroded by colonial powers. Warning: Adulterated Palm Oil Enters Markets, Dealer Shares Tips to Recognise Them

Fake palm oil is said to have entered several markets in six states of Nigeria and is still spreading into others. A few arrests, according to reports, have been made, and laboratory testing of seized samples revealed high acid content, and other substances believed to cause cancer. Market dealers and sellers have raised alarm over the fake and adulterated palm oil now selling in markets across Nigeria. According to reports, the product has already infiltrated markets in six states of Nigeria – Imo, Lagos, Yobe, Oyo, Ogun, and Plateau states – and is still spreading to other states.
