Hon. Joseph Ikpea Fits The Bill



Martin Luther King Jr. once said, and I quote, “The ultimate measure of a man's integrity is not where he stands in moments of convenience and comfort, but where he stands in times of challenges and difficulties.” - 

The above didactic quote aptly illustrates Hon Joseph Ikpea's unassuming character traits and personality. 

His trademark, his unruffled mien is undoubtedly a reflection of a man whose nobility of intentions and fidelity of dreams can't be melted by challenges. Herein lies his strength for which he has won the hearts, respect and admiration of friends and colleagues around the globe.

It is no wonder therefore, that his
resounding achievements both in the organized private sector and the public service in the face of the global economic downturn is indicative of his resilience and flawless capacity to articulate and implement people-oriented policies and decisions in the face of tough challenges.

A man of his words, tested, trusted, result oriented and humble, Joe, as he is fondly called by his peers and admirers, understands and knows what it takes to leverage on the already well established relationships and conviviality which the former Senator representing the district, Senator Monday Okpebholo has built in the upper chambers and the corridors of power to initiate programs and projects that would be beneficial to his people.

Given the opportunity, he surely will drive growth and development for the good of all in the region.

This is therefore no time to give in to primordial incontinence such as political party differences or other pecuniary considerations, rather, let all well meaning voters in the region be unanimous in the declaration and endorsement through the ballot, of Honourable Joseph Ikpea as the preferred candidate in the coming bye- election, for in so doing, will our shared vision and aspirations of a glorious Edo Central would be guaranteed.

Catholic Priest dumps Christianity for traditional religion after completing PhD on rainmaking

Dr Echezona Obiagbaosogu, a Catholic priest, has abandoned Christianity for African traditional religion after his PhD project. His PhD project is said to be on rainmaking in Igboland and he said the insight he gained during his research made him change the course of his spiritual pursuit. According to reports , Obiagbaosogu, who teaches African Traditional Religion at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, in Anambra State, said he was fascinated by the traditional African spirituality and the art of rainmaking. After defending his PhD Dissertation titled “Rainmaking and Control in Igbo African Medicine,” on Wednesday, he said Africa possesses enormous resources and value which have been eroded by colonial powers. Fake palm oil is said to have entered several markets in six states of Nigeria and is still spreading into others. A few arrests, according to reports, have been made, and laboratory testing of seized samples revealed high acid content, and other substances believed to cause cancer. Market dealers and sellers have raised alarm over the fake and adulterated palm oil now selling in markets across Nigeria. According to reports, the product has already infiltrated markets in six states of Nigeria – Imo, Lagos, Yobe, Oyo, Ogun, and Plateau states – and is still spreading to other states.
