ILLEGAL SALES OF OBA’S LAND AT IKHUENIRO: OSAZEMWIDE CALLS ON OBA EWUARE II FOR RESCUE
Ohenhen Osazemwide has made a passionate appeal to the Benin monarch, Oba Ewuare II to rescue him from the suffocating grip of some individuals at Ikhueniro Clan who allegedly want to eliminate him for telling them to stop their encroachment and illegal sales of plot of lands belonging to Oba Ewuare II at Ikhueniro community.
Ohenhen who made the appeal while speaking with journalists at Ikhueniro, said some persons from Ikhueniro who are allegedly in contact with some powerful palace Chiefs have encroached into the parcel of land belonging to the Oba of Benin at Ikhueniro, selling them to unsuspecting members of the public, lamented that they are allegedly planning to eliminate him because he refused to be part of the conspiracy to sell the land which he said belongs to Oba Ewuare II.
Narrating his ordeal to newsmen, Priest Osazemwide Ohenhen, the Ohonbaro of Ikhueniro Clan, stated that the parcel of land under reference was delineated and given to Oba Akenzua II by Ikhueniro Community during the reign of Oba Akenzua II. He stated further that Oba Akenzua II later gave the land to a certain company to develop, and named some Ikhueniro person that where employed by the company as security guards.
He further pointed out that after sometime, the company folded up and left, adding that Oba Akenzua II did not sell the land and that the land reverted to Oba Akenzua II after the company left the place. Ohenhen narrated further that sometime ago, some individual from Ikhueniro Community came to him with some papers, urging him to append his signature for the sales of the land, which he refused to comply with, adding that the land now belongs to Oba Ewuare II, the Oba of Benin. He stated further, that two weeks after his refusal to sign for the sale of the Oba’s land under reference, some chiefs came from the palace of the Benin Monarch to seal up his shrine at Ikhueniro Community. He disclosed that since then he has written several petition to Oba Ewuare II on the issue without any reply, noting that those powerful palace chiefs coopted into the illegal sales of the land by some Ikhueniro indigenes who have connived to ensure his petition does not get to Oba Ewuare II. He assured that he will disclose the names of those who sold the Oba’s land at the community, adding he would never reveal to anyone, so that they may not eliminate him. He pointed out that he has documented everything about the issue and kept it in the bank in case of any eventuality.
Ohenhen Osazemwide once again calls on Oba Ewuare II for recuse and restore back his status as the Ohonbaro of Ikhueniro community.
