Governor Monday Okpebholo: Leadership, Courage, And Commitment To Edo’s Future

... true leadership is not about pleasing everybody- Oris Okpebholo

AKHERE ORIS OKPEBHOLO

The African Democratic Party's (ADC) article, "THE POLITICS OF FAILURE AND BACKDOOR AMBITION " is not only laughable but replete with specious arguments and a deliberate misrepresentations, which serves futilely to diminish the glaringly undeniable achievements of Governor Monday Okpebholo's administration, which was an exercise in futility, lacking merit of sound judgement to sane minds.
That little attempt by the ADC hatchet to rewrite reality cannot mask the truth: Okpebholo Is Working And Edo People Are Applauding.

No one would have bothered engaging the ADC in an intellectual conversation, particularly a subject matter relating to governance which is far and above their scope of compression, but for the sake of the reading public and to put the record in its proper perspective, this rebuttal becomes imperative.

At a time when leadership requires bold decisions, resilience, and the ability to adapt to changing realities, Governor Okpebholo has demonstrated the political dexterity, maturity and commitment needed to move Edo forward, he represents a new chapter of courage, reform, and people-focused governance in Edo State.

Unlike the politics of noise and empty promises of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) by spent forces who have completely lost steam and direction,
governor Monday Okpebholo's administration focuses on practical governance — strengthening institutions, improving grassroots engagement, and laying foundations for long-term stability and growth.

True leadership is not about pleasing everyone; it is about making tough decisions in the best interest of the people, even when those decisions attract criticism.

The infantile argument about cross carpeting which the ill-equipped ADC sited is a lackluster, puerile argument warps in perspective, a product of flawed intelligence, because governor Okpebholo understands that the responsibility of leadership includes listening, recalibrating strategies, and building wider partnerships that can accelerate development.

Political alignment and collaboration are tools of governance, not signs of weakness. History has shown that progress often comes when leaders are willing to break rigid barriers to secure better opportunities, stronger support systems, and greater stability for their people.

On security, the governor has continued to engage security agencies, community leaders, and stakeholders to strengthen response mechanisms and improve safety across communities.

The current Security challenges confronting some areas of Edo is, of course regrettably unfortunate, it is complex and a nationwide phenomenal not restricted to Edo alone and it requires the responsible leadership as being demonstrated by the Senator Monday Okpebholo's administration to confront and mitigate them with strategy, cooperation, and sustained action — not propaganda.

Governor Okpebholo’s vision remains clear: A safer Edo State through coordinated security efforts and community intelligence.
An economy that empowers youths, traders, farmers, and entrepreneurs. Infrastructure development that connects communities and attracts investment. Transparent governance that restores public trust.

Rather than seeking shortcuts, Governor Okpebholo continues to pursue the confidence of Edo people through service, visible leadership, and consistent engagement. Leadership is proven not by political slogans but by steady progress, stability, and the ability to unite people toward a common purpose.

Edo State deserves continuity in leadership that understands its challenges and remains committed to sustainable solutions. The future of Edo cannot be built on division or political hostility, but on collaboration, accountability, and purposeful governance as aptly being demonstrated by governor Monday Okpebholo's administration.

Governor Monday Okpebholo stands for progress, responsibility, and a stronger Edo State. The journey forward is one of unity, development, and renewed hope — and Edo people deserve nothing less.

The ADC's unconscionable and egregious attempts to impugn the governor Monday Okpebholo's administration's record are a deplorable and pernicious assault on the truth, driven by a naked and shameless pursuit of political expediency because it is a fact widely acknowledged that the pace of development under the leadership of the Senator Monday Okpebholo's administration is unprecedented with road construction sites littering the state, flyover bridges, general infrastructure upgrade, education remodelling, human and capital development etc from the rural to the urban communities are a glaring testimony that Edo State is in safe hands.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) cannot in any known acceptable manner present itself as a symbol of hope, competence, or people-centered governance since it lacks any of the above credentials.

In reality, ADC remains largely unknown to the people of Edo State, with no visible grassroots presence, functional structure, or measurable political base. A group that is virtually nonexistent in public consciousness and lacking in organizational capacity cannot seriously claim the ability to address complex challenges such as insecurity or governance.

Political leadership is built on credibility, structure, and the confidence of the electorate — none of which ADC has. Rhetoric and empty declarations cannot substitute for genuine public acceptance and institutional strength.

It is therefore evident that a group without a solid foundation, clear identity, or widespread support is incapable of winning any election, let alone delivering responsible and effective governance, and so it was only laughable that a collection of disgruntled individuals who couldn't fulfill their political relevance in some decapitated party is making unfounded declaration about a government that is reengineering the socio economic and security dynamics of Edo state.
