NO CRISIS IN AAU: MANAGEMENT ON COURSE AND FOCUSED
The Management of Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, has taken note of a recent publication circulating on social media and other platforms alleging a crisis within the institution.
According to the Principal Assistant Registrar, Head, Information, Protocol and Public Relations, Otunba Mike Aladenika, in a statement made available to the Press in Benin-City the Edo State Capital, said the publication circulating on social media lacked substance and factual inaccuracies.
Ordinarily, such a write-up would not deserve a response, given its evident lack of substance and factual inaccuracies. However, in the interest of setting the record straight and reassuring stakeholders, the University considers it necessary to respond.
The said report can best be described as a product of wild imagination, crafted to misinform the public and create unnecessary apprehension about the state of affairs in the University.
Contrary to the claims made in the publication, there is no crisis of any kind in Ambrose Alli University. The institution remains stable, focused, and committed to its core mandate of academic excellence, research, and community development.
The Management, under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mrs. Eunice Eboiserehimen Omonzejie, continues to work harmoniously with all principal officers and staff to sustain the progress recorded in recent months.
The narrative of administrative chaos and internal discord exists only in the mind of the author and does not reflect the true situation on ground.
For the avoidance of doubt, the redeployment of the former Bursar by the Edo State Government to his academic position is a routine administrative decision aimed at strengthening the operational efficiency of the University.
It forms part of the broader re-engineering process initiated by the State Government to reposition AAU for optimal performance. While the affected officer, like any Nigerian citizen, is entitled to pursue any lawful course of action available to him, such steps do not in any way constitute or translate into a crisis within the University.
The institution, as a corporate entity, must and will continue to move forward in line with established policies and directives.
It is also important to clarify that there is no personal bickering or quarrel between the Vice-Chancellor and any Principal Officer of the University, including the Registrar. What may have been misconstrued as conflict in the said report are normal administrative processes and professional engagements that are common in institutions of higher learning across the world.
Management maintains a culture of mutual respect, due process, and collective responsibility, where differing opinions are addressed through established channels for the overall good of the University.
The Management of Ambrose Alli University remains firmly aligned with the vision and ideals of the Edo State Government for the growth and transformation of the institution. These ideals are sacrosanct and continue to guide all decisions and actions taken by the University leadership. Stakeholders, students, staff, and the general public are therefore advised to disregard the misleading publication and be assured that AAU is on course, stable, and making steady progress.
