EWMB Intensifies Maintenance at Ikhueniro Dumpsite to Boost Sanitation in Edo
The Edo State Waste Management Board (EWMB) has stepped up maintenance operations at the Ikhueniro Dumpsite as part of ongoing efforts to enhance waste management and promote a cleaner environment across the state.
The exercise, led by the Managing Director, Ambassador Dr. Lucky Enehita-Inegbenehi, involved the clearing and leveling of accumulated waste heaps, comprehensive site sanitation, and other critical maintenance activities. According to the Board, the initiative is aimed at improving operational efficiency and increasing the dumpsite’s capacity to handle growing waste volumes.
Ikhueniro Dumpsite remains a major disposal hub for waste collectors statewide, making its upkeep essential to environmental health and public sanitation. By intensifying maintenance efforts, the Board seeks to create a safer and more efficient working environment, reduce delays in waste evacuation, and support cleaner communities throughout Edo State.
The EWMB also expressed appreciation to the State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, for his continued support and commitment to improving sanitation and restoring environmental cleanliness across the state.
Reaffirming its dedication to sustainable waste management, the Board called on residents to complement government efforts by adopting proper waste disposal practices and maintaining clean surroundings.
