Edo LG Poll. Tega Targets 2.5 million Votes For Tinubu Through People Oriented Governance.

The Winner of the just concluded Edo state local government election in Esan South-East local government area, Mr. Tega Amiegbebhor  of the All Progressives Congress, APC,  has vowed to use his people centered government at the local government council as the Chairman of the council to pursue the actualisation of the 2.5 million votes support for the re-election bid of President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He stated this yesterday after casting his vote in his polling unit in Ugboha in Esan South-East local government area of Edo state.

According to him, "What you are seeing today is just the beginning of the mobilisation for the 2.5 million votes support for the re-election bid for the Bola Ahmed Tinubu re-election.

The people came out massively to vote for me because they have faith in me that the development impact of my tenure as the local government Chairman would be visible across the ten wards of the local government area.

I know I am going to win the election because the people know me and I know each and every person in this area and as you can see, they came out massively because I am involved and because of the faith they have in me, I will not disappoint the people 

I am very serious about the 2.5 million votes support by the governor of Edo state, Senator Monday Okpebholo for the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and I am going to work to develop every ward, starting from ward 1 to 10 of the entire local government area and I am not joking with the actualisation.

I am going to do well before the general election in 2027 because the people will come out again and vote for my party only when I do well and I will not disappoint the people.

The governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo is working for the people of Edo State and the people are happy and so I am going to emulate him and work for my people so that they will also be happy to come out  again to vote massively for our party to make the vision of the 2.5 million votes a reality.

Also speaking with journalists at the Polling center in Ugboha, Chief Giwa  Agbonmhere said that the incoming chairman was  being elected to add value to the people, to improve the living conditions of the people and to add value to the security situation of the area saying that security concern in the area is the utmost concern as people can no longer go to their farms stressing that when there is security in the land there would be food security and he therefore wished the incoming local government chairmen of the 18 local government areas of the state the courage to work for the welfare of the people.

Speaking with journalists in his Country Home in Ughoha, Jeff Okpoko, a prominent leader in the area said that the local government election was for the people to demonstrate their potential and to prove to the people, to the governor of Edo State and  President Bola Ahmed Tinubu that the people have the potential to deliver on the 2.5 million votes support for the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

" Because we have a working governor,  a governor who knows the pain of the people, a noiseless governor who has the capacity to deliver the dividends of democracy, a governor that is working for the people, we are therefore using this election to appreciate the governor for the excellent work he is doing for his people. 

" Every aspect of his leadership style will translate to electoral victory. Look at how he was able to nip the security challenge in the bud.

"Fighting insecurity is a difficult task because the government operates by rules and regulations but the criminals don't operate by conventional laws and that is why it was a bit difficult and people couldn't understand but gradually the governor has been proactively catching up with their tricks and is able to neutralize their potentials to operate successfully. Before now it would have been difficult for you Journalists to drive from Benin-City down to Ugboha through Uromi as a result of the menace of possibility of kidnapping but you came here today without escorts.

Generally, when you talk about education, the road network, human capital development and his human relationship is resonating well with the aspirations of the generality of Edo people. The only pockets of complaints you hear are people who feel they are not benefiting directly, but how many positions can the governor give to individuals?

So, we need to encourage such people to cooperate with the governor and the people of Edo State to make the governor work for the good people of Edo State. 

On the actualisation of the 2.5 million votes support for the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, he said it was actualizable adding that the president has taken bold initiatives which successive governments weren't able to achieve. He said it was funny how people could forget so soon soon how children were spending more than 8 years in universities for a 4 year degree program, how people would queue at filling stations for days without fuel and people would be looking for black market outlets with exorbitant rates without success.

At times people think the economic realities of Nigeria is only 

 happening in Nigeria. I am based in the United States of America and the yogurt I used to buy for  two dollars fifty cents is now seven dollars fifty cents. People think the economic realities of our time is only applicable in Nigeria, the truth is, it is a global issue not restricted to Nigeria alone.

He therefore advised the incoming local government chairmen to emulate the people centered governance style of the government of Senator Monday Okpebholo, putting the people first before every other consideration while also admonishing the people to support a working government.
