Fair, Equitable Distribution Of Development; My Sole Mission At National Assembly - Senator Joseph Ikpea

The Senator representing Edo Central senatorial district at the National Assembly, Senator Joseph  Ikpea, has reaffirmed his unalloyed commitment to a selfless service and the fair and equitable distribution  of democratic dividends to  his constituency as his sole mission at the national Assemble.

He made the remarks recently in his  Country Home in Ewatto kingdom while playing host to a large crowd of  supporters who came to pledge their allegiance and support.

While addressing the gathering he  said some people are asking what has  senator Ikpea done as a senator?

According to him, "It is a question I have heard from some  people, and I welcome it because leadership should always be accountable to the people.

" In just nine months of representing Edo Central in the Senate, even though   the budget was made and passed long before I was  elected as the senator representing the district,  my focus has remained clear: to pursue logical, practical interventions, engage the relevant authorities, and advocate for initiatives that improve the lives of our people.

Not ready to give excuses as a result of the non availability of resources due to the long passed budget which has been exhausted before my emergence, I recognize the essence of my selfless service to members of my constituents. He noted that his intervention and interface with agencies of the Federal Government has caused FERMA to call for tender for the rehabilitation of the Ubiaja - Ewatto - Ewohimi  - Ekpon Road and the Uromi  - Agbor Road. 

"Recognising the daily challenges faced by commuters, traders, and residents along the Ubiaja Road/Roundabout, for instance, I facilitated the ongoing palliative intervention on some of the most critical sections of the road. The work, which is currently in progress, is aimed at making the road more motorable, improving accessibility, and easing the movement of people and goods while longer-term solutions are pursued. This is besides the numerous investments made in human capital development such as the enrollment of thousands of indigents students for the Jamb, the empowerment for about two hundred and fifty across the entire senatorial district aside from other critical intervention in the district.

" Beyond this immediate intervention, I am pleased that two critical roads within Edo Central have also been approved under the FERMA maintenance programme. This represents another important milestone towards improving our road infrastructure and ensuring more sustainable solutions for our communities.

He acknowledged  that there is a lot yet to be done and reaffirmed his commitment to  tackle the challenges one after the other while soliciting the understanding and support of everyone genuinely interested in the development of the constituency.

" I know there is still much more to be done, and I do not pretend otherwise. Development is a gradual process that requires patience, consistency, collaboration, and unwavering commitment. Every meaningful intervention brings us one step closer to the Edo Central we all desire.

" My commitment remains unflinching . I will continue to engage, advocate, and work tirelessly to attract more developmental projects, improve infrastructure, and ensure that every community across Edo Central receives the quality representation it deserves.

"The work continues, and by the grace of God, together we will build a stronger, more connected, and more prosperous Edo Central.
